Summary

Paris, January 31st, 2025 - Global Privacy UX Solutions Provider Didomi announces that Google has re-certified its CMP for the second year in a row for all available environments (web, mobile, and CTV).

Since announcing our certification by Google in early 2023, we’ve continued to nurture a strong working relationship with Google and have enabled our customers to make the most out of our solutions and Google’s, both on the publisher and the advertiser side:

We are grateful to be recognized as one of the top consent management providers in the industry by Google, an exciting achievement which cements our position as a key player and a premium choice for organizations looking to implement comprehensive, effective consent collection practices.

Consent has emerged as a cornerstone of digital activities over the past few years. It will continue to be the main legal basis as data protection regulations grow globally, and consumers rightfully demand that their rights be respected and enforced.

- Romain Gauthier, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder at Didomi

Since last year, Google has been requiring publishers with traffic from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland to implement a certified CMP to continue using Google Adtech products:

To comply with the EU User Consent Policy, partners using our publisher products—Google AdSense, Ad Manager, or AdMob—are required to use a consent management platform (CMP) that has been certified by Google and integrates with the IAB's Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) when serving personalized ads to users in [the EEA and UK, and Switzerland].

- Google Support (source: Google consent management requirements for serving ads in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland (for publishers))

To become Google-certified, CMPs are assessed by Google against certification criteria focused on compliance with the IAB's Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF), and while the organization does not check for full compliance with the TCF or applicable privacy laws, it does check that CMPs supporting its Additional Consent specification can do so correctly.

We at Didomi are proud to be one of the few CMPs certified once again for web, mobile, and CTV environments. As of Google’s latest communication, using a certified CMP for CTV compliance will become mandatory in July 2025 (learn more about consent management for CTV).

How can publishers comply with Google CMP requirements?

If you’re a publisher with traffic from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, make sure to check whether the following applies to you:

  • You’re a Didomi customer: Congratulations, you’re in good hands and comply with Google’s EU user consent policy. No action is needed from you, but reach out to your account manager if you have any questions.
  • You are working with a non-certified CMP: You are likely not compliant and might lose access to Google’s publisher products (Google AdSense, Ad Manager, and AdMob). We strongly advise contacting your CMP to find out whether they’re working towards getting certified and, if not, to consider migrating to a certified solution.
  • You are working with another Google-certified CMP than Didomi: You are likely safe, but check Google’s list of certified CMPs to ensure your current solution covers all environments.
  • You have your own CMP: While this might be challenging if this isn’t your core business, Google allows publishers with their own CMPs to register their interest in completing certification.
  • You don’t have a CMP yet: Compare some of the best Consent Management Platforms available on the market, or get started with our 2025 CMP buyer’s guide to understand how a CMP works and what you should look for depending on your specific use case.
